Alberto Biasin studied for three years at the violin-making school of master Desiderio Quercetani in Parma, after which he opened his workshop in Montebello Vicentino (Vicenza), his hometown.
After learning the traditional construction techniques of the Parma school, he spent thirteen years studying and perfecting the style typical of his region, drawing inspiration from Venetian, Brescian, and Austrian lutherie. This led him to create original models that reflect his distinctly personal taste, always mindful of experimentation aimed at the continuous improvement of his instruments.
Becoming a luthier was a natural choice for me. Since I was little, I loved listening to music and working with wood—lutherie became the perfect combination of these two passions.
There’s nothing more satisfying than creating musical instruments with my own hands: imagining them, designing them, grabbing a plane and breathing in the scent of the wood, and then, after months of work, being able to hear them play.
My workshop is my world, that dusty place covered in wood shavings where I feel at home. This work can’t be done unless it becomes a vocation and a way of life. There are challenges and effort, but the rewards are immense. It’s wonderful to know that musicians around the world, from South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, the United States, and beyond, are now playing my instruments.
A musical instrument is not just an object; it’s also a vehicle, art that, in the right hands, creates more art in the form of music.
